(AP) - This NOAA satellite image taken Monday, January 23, 2012 at 12:45 PM EST shows widespread scattered clouds develop across the Caribbean Sea as high pressure dominates. However, a cold front moving through the Southeastern US extends into the northern Gulf of Mexico, triggering widespread scattered rain showers. (AP PHOTO/WEATHER UNDERGROUND)

(AP) - This NOAA satellite image taken Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 12:45 PM EST shows clouds associated with a dissipating stationary front extending across the northwestern Caribbean Sea. Isolated showers are possible within 50 nautical miles of the front. The rest of the basin experiences fair weather with mostly sunny skies due to a dry airmass covering much of the basin. Only a few patches of isolated showers embedded in low level clouds dot the open waters of the sea, arcing from the Venezuela coast to just south of Hispaniola and back to the Panama coast. (AP) - This NOAA satellite image taken Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 12:45 PM EST shows patchy clouds cover the Caribbean Sea and Latin America. An area of low pressure lingers over the western Caribbean Sea, pushing moisture onshore and triggering scattered showers and thunderstorms over Honduras and Nicaragua. Meanwhile in the north, a frontal boundary over the Southeastern U.S. extends into the Gulf of Mexico, producing periods of heavy rains and strong winds. (AP Photo/Weather Underground)

(AP) - This NOAA satellite image taken Monday, January 2, 2012 at 12:45 PM EST shows dense cloud cover over the northwestern Caribbean Sea as scattered moderate convective activity continues along the coast of Yucatan Peninsula. Elsewhere, isolated showers form in the open waters of the basin and Central America, primarily the southwestern Caribbean Sea, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and portions of the eastern Caribbean Sea.
